Step 1: Initial Competency Assessment
Participate in a RBT® Training Program that includes the Initial RBT® Competency Assessment. Contrary to popular belief, completing a 40-hour RBT® course alone does not suffice for RBT® certification. The BACB mandates an Initial Competency Assessment conducted by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) in conjunction with a BACB compliant client. This assessment is integral to demonstrating proficiency in implementing behavior-analytic procedures effectively.
Step 2: Direct Supervision by a BCBA
To ensure compliance with BACB standards, aspiring RBTs must work directly under the supervision of a BCBA.
