What is the history of RBTs?

In 2014 the BACB created Registered Behavior Technicians. RBTs are an entry level job (no college degree required!) in ABA therapy.

What role does an RBT play in the ABA therapy community?

RBTs play a crucial role when they are working with their BCBA and implementing the behavior plans with the clients.

Why are RBTs in such HIGH DEMAND?

Increased diagnosis of autism.

This increase reflects improvements in the identification and diagnosis of autism, as well as changes in diagnostic criteria and increased awareness of autism in the medical community and general public. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the prevalence of autism in the United States was estimated to be 1 in 54 children in 2016, which is an increase from 1 in 125 children in 2010. This represents a 160% increase in the prevalence of autism.

Increased demand for BCBAs.

This demand is driven in part by the increasing prevalence of autism (ASD), which has led to a greater need for ABA services and interventions to support individuals with autism and their families. In addition, there has been a growing recognition of the importance of evidence-based, behaviorally-focused interventions for individuals with autism like Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), which has increased the demand for professionals with training and expertise in this area.

More RBTs means more help for those needing ABA therapy.

The demand for BCBAs, BCaBAs, and RBTs is also fueled by changes in legislation and insurance coverage, which have increased the availability of funding for autism services and interventions, as well as a growing awareness of the importance of early intervention. Become a certified RBT in the ATCC virtual programs that allow you to learn and access high-quality live training through both your laptop computer and mobile device.
Increased Demand for RBTs
Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), which is the science of behavior and learning, has experienced significant growth in recent years, and BCBAs, BCaBAs, and RBTs are in high demand in many regions.
